Conventional Commits
Conventional Commits
I’m all about building conventions or standards within any technology or product I use. I find it significantly simplifies looking after the solution and makes any form of automation much easier to implement.
Recently looking through some blogs I follow, I ran across Conventional Commits which is a small website attempting to standardize git commit messages. Its specification is short and too the point, outlining an idea of using types such as fix or feat at the beginning of a commit message to help identify the purpose of the commit. You can see this in action looking at the commit history of the app Monica.
Something I’ll definite look towards implementing where I work.
